W. E. B. DuBois Honors Program at Fisk University
The W. E. B. DuBois Honors Program at Fisk University is delighted to serve as the host institution for this year’s virtual NAAAHP conference. Each year, the conference allows some of the brightest students in our nation a forum to present their research, network, investigate career and graduate schools, and compete for awards. This year is the same! We invite each of you to explore the possibilities of our virtual conference and build lasting relationships that will enrich and sustain you in your academic and professional pursuits.
Fisk Honors students are top scholars whose research and accomplishments in STEM, Humanities, Business, and social justice (in and out of the classroom) are reshaping the landscape of global educational. In fact, last year Fisk celebrated the success of two Rhodes Scholar finalists, among other prestigious commendations. As we head into an exciting and progressive future, Fisk University couldn’t be more thrilled to support our own Acting Provost, Dr. Kenneth Jones, President of NAAAHP.
Alabama State University
Greetings from the faculty, staff, and students of The Alabama State University’s W.E.B. Du Bois Honors Program.
We wish each of you success as you endeavor to complete your studies in new and challenging ways. The Interdisciplinary Honors program offers an academically challenging course of study designed to encourage students to pursue outstanding and independent academic achievement, to expand the breadth and depth of their educational experience beyond the standard curriculum, and to prepare for lives of leadership and service to their communities. Students complete seminar classes, symposia, independent study courses, and capstone research classes that eventually lead to an honors diploma.

Bowie State University
This highly competitive program for many years has provided a myriad of exciting educational experiences for its students. Beginning with primarily cultural activities, the BSU Honors Program has expanded into various modes of academic instruction. In addition to the staff, many alumni continue to participate in and support the program's growth.
The program encourages traditional classroom instruction in special honors sections; special honors projects to obtain honors credits; honors colloquia to enhance independent study; field trips to regional historic sites; and seminars. The major benefit of any honors program is intellectual growth of its student participants. This growth is the result of meeting rigorous intellectual challenges fostered in a culturally and socially diverse atmosphere.

Delaware State University
At Delaware State University, the Honors Program is about academic enrichment. Honors students receive individualized faculty and mentor attention, participate in stimulating honors courses and seminars, and choose from numerous research opportunities. The program is designed to prepare scholars with an education that fosters intellectual growth and academic achievement, while readying them to stand out with employers or be successful in graduate or professional schools after graduation.
Florida A&M University
The mission of the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Honors Center is to provide a series of challenging courses and academic enhancement experiences for undergraduate students who excel. Enhancement of academic performance in critical thinking skills, in essence, will lead to consummate intellectual engagement and strong research orientation as a launch to both graduate and professional schools, as well as career paths. The center stresses four major areas of concentration: academic achievement, development of leadership potential, community service and cultural enrichment.
Hampton University - The Freddye T. Davy Honors College
Established in 1986, The Freddye T. Davy Honors College’s primary purpose is to encourage and reward performance, not talent. We describe an Honors Scholar as any student who has the:

The Freddye T. Davy Honors College is designed to nurture intellect, emphasize new perspectives, and encourage and support research. Hillsborough Community College - Dr. Lydia R. Daniel Honors Program
Hillsborough Community College’s, Dr. Lydia R. Daniel Honors Program is celebrating its 25th year. Students are selected from applicants who illustrate an aptitude for academic rigor, an interest in leadership development, and the motivation to do their best and serve their community. The program encourages critical thinking, research, and intellectual curiosity through service, travel, and coursework.
Named after its founder, the program boasts nearly 300 students that attend local universities for transfer as well as prestigious schools nationwide. Transfer students from the 2019/2020 academic year were awarded nearly $1M in scholarships and awards.
Jackson State University - Du Bois - Harvey Honors College
Mission - To encourage intellectual curiosity and enhance critical and analytical thinking among selected high achieving students.

Miles College Honors Curriculum
The Honors Curriculum is a four year academic enrichment program for students who are prepared to go the extra mile in their intellectual, service and cultural pursuits. Students are presented with opportunities to engage in more rigorous academic program, to participate in national and international conferences, and to be ready to join the corporate world or pursue graduate studies.
Morehouse College - Howard Thurman Honors Program
The Morehouse College Honors Program is a four-year comprehensive program providing special learning opportunities for students of outstanding intellectual ability, high motivation, and broad interests. The program emphasizes leadership and social outreach systematically in classes and in co-curricular activities from freshman year to graduation. The program has established a record of actively supporting the College’s internationalization focus by introducing its students at the freshman level, in classes and in external meetings – to active interest and participation in global studies and study-abroad commitments to balance the students’ academic pursuits.
Morgan State University, Clara I. Adams Honors College

The Honors Program at Prairie View A&M University is designed to provide a variety of scholarly activities and advanced courses for outstanding undergraduate students who value and seek rigorous academic challenges. The Honors Program continues to build on its established legacy and profound history of academic excellence, creating a scholarly atmosphere for current and future students. To achieve this goal, each honors course stimulates intellectual exchange through small seminar-style classes. Interaction with faculty and peers offers the ability to refine the skills of clear expression, acute analysis, critical thinking, and imaginative problem-solving. Students selected as participants are provided a framework for global leadership including a foreign language class of Chinese or Spanish.
